Application Tips

How do I apply Synergie Minerals mineral makeup for flawless results?

Congratulations on choosing the best looking makeup under the Australian sun!

Simple 4 Step application of Synergie Minerals

Always apply minerals in thin layers. One light layer will offer SPF 20+ broad spectrum (UVA/B)
protection. Two layers give maximum protection and are perfect for a day look. Make sure Uberzinc
moisturiser has fully absorbed before applying Synergie Minerals foundation

  1. Place your minerals on a clean tissue. Open the jar and tap minerals
through the sifter into the empty lid. Two or three taps should release
enough loose minerals for one layer of foundation.

  1. Firmly push the kabuki brush into the minerals and rotate the brush
around a few times to distribute the minerals on the brush.

  1. Now turn the brush up (flat base facing down) and tap the base firmly on the bathroom bench 3 times. This allows the minerals to penetrate the brush so they are not sitting on the top.

  1. Polish the minerals into the skin with the kabuki brush. Use small, firm
circular buffing motions. Work minerals into the skin quickly and evenly without spending too long on one area of the face. Don’t forget the neck and décolletage!

Many first time mineral make-up clients find application of loose minerals quite different to “traditional” make-up. It may take a couple of days to perfect the technique but don’t give up.

Second Skin Crush Mineral Foundation:

  • Always apply minerals in thin layers, two is usually sufficient.

  • Make sure your moisturiser has absorbed before you apply mineral powder.

  • If you are a traveller it is a good idea to leave the protective label on the sifter and poke about seven holes through the label. This will avoid excess minerals settling above the sifter if the jar is not on a flat surface.

  • When applying loose minerals, open the jar and tap the minerals through the sifter into the empty lid. Three or four light taps should release enough loose minerals for one layer of foundation. Swirl your Professional Kabuki brush in the foundation, and tap the excess back into the lid. Begin applying with small firm circular strokes moving in the direction of hair growth so hair will lay flat.

  • Many first time mineral make up clients find application of loose minerals quite different to their previous ‘traditional’ makeup. It may take a couple of attempts to perfect the technique. Don’t give up. The great results and benefits for your skin is well worth it!

Concealing:

  • Use a firmer finer brush such as the Foundation or small concealer brush and move in light circular motions around the nose. This minimises the appearance of large pores.

  • If you need to conceal dark circles or blemishes or uneven skin tone, use the Concealer Brush and apply concealer onto that area. Use a damp flocked sponge or our Foundation brush for a heavier coverage; this is especially good for areas under the eyes and for concealing large pores.

Synergie Minerals Shine Free Setting Powder

Use the Professional Kabuki and apply all over the face after the application of eye cosmetics, bronzer and blush. This is essential for event make up or photography.

Synergie Minerals Hydrospritz for Moisture Setting

Synergie Hydrospritz antioxidant spray is a standalone skin care essential. It will re-hydrate your skin, hydrate dry or flaky skin and set make up for a flawless lasting look. Hint:if you mist with the Synergie Hydrospritz and then use a flocked sponge or Foundation brush to lightly smooth your make up in a downward motion; you will minimize the appearance of large pores.

Eye shadow:

Use the all over eye shadow brush to apply your lighter shade eye shadow. The Dual Eye shadow brush is essential for application. Use the shadow end for placing the darker shade in the crease of your eye. Follow with the fine liner brush to create a fine line above and below the lash line. Simply tap some colour into the lid, swirling your brush, tap off the excess and apply.

Eyeliner:

Add a little Glamourise Activator Liquid to the shadow and mix to a thin paste (not too watery) Use the fine liner end of the dual brush and apply.

Blush:

Use the flat top blush brush to gather your colour from the lid and tap off excess. Use light, feathery strokes from the apple of your cheek back towards your hairline.

Bronzer:

Use the flat top brush to gather your colour from the lid and tap off excess. Use light, feathery strokes where the sun ‘kisses your face’.-centre of forehead, nose, chin, centre of cheeks and neck. Blend gently from the centre of the face out.

Brow Liner:

You can use this dry or wet, apply with the Dual Shadow Liner brush using the angled end to apply then soften with the brush end.

FAQ's

I have oily skin. How do I avoid too much shine?

It is easy to avoid this by applying the minerals in thin layers in downward strokes with the kabuki brush. It is recommended to begin application with Synergie Uberzinc Moisturiser/Primer to provide a matte surface and absorb excess oil.Keep adding layers of Synergie Second Skin Minerals until desired coverage has been reached. Follow with Shine Free Setting Powder and blot gently with a tissue.

My make up looks uneven and blotchy.

This is usually because the minerals have been applied before the moisturiser has been fully absorbed or because the moisturiser is too oily and will not absorb on the skin surface. The simple solution is to wait a minute for the moisturiser to disappear or to blot any excess.

Why is my foundation the wrong colour?

Always choose your shade in correct lighting and be guided by your skin care professional. The best way to test for the correct colour is to apply it on the jaw line in daylight. The colour should ‘disappear’ if it blends perfectly with the natural skin tone.

Can I apply Synergie Minerals immediately following a clinical procedure on my skin?

Yes. Mineral make-up can be applied immediately after a light peel or microdermabrasion. It will not only cover the redness, Zinc Oxide is an anti-inflammatory, which will help to calm inflamed skin.

Is the makeup water resistant?

Yes. The mineral make up is highly water resistant and will offer full  20+ UVA/UVB sun protection provided the minerals are not rubbed off. To avoid this, use a towel to blot dry following swimming.
